Case study: Event Genius helps Australia’s Day For It Festival welcome thousands in big step towards return of live events

Just a few weeks ago Australia’s Day For It Festival flung open its gates to welcome thousands of music fans to Brisbane’s Riverfront Event Space, in what was a huge step towards the return of live events. Put together by the teams behind The Grass is Greener, Pitch Control and Fostered Events, Day For It curated a lineup of brilliant Australian talent, including Peking Duk, The Jungle Giants and Hermitude.

The one-day festival was our largest event delivery in Australia to date, and when mixed with the additional complexities around making sure the event was COVID-secure and its wider relevance to the return of live events, we were incredibly proud to be involved.

Client Requirements:

Day For It Festival wanted a flexible ticketing and access control solution to help manage the flow of guests into the festival site. They needed a system that was both able to sell tickets to separate zones to better manage capacity, avoid overcrowding and make contact tracing easier if a COVID-19 outbreak did occur, but also simultaneously be able to manage access to these areas via multiple entry points, including an additional guestlist entry.

powered Day For It Festival’s primary ticketing offering, allowing customers to purchase tickets in advance via the festival’s official website and Festicket’s native platform. 

egMarketing helped boost the festival’s audience by letting it take advantage of Festicket’s diverse marketing channels, including Content, Email and Social Media.

egAccess was used to manage the festival’s multiple entry points and ensure the COVID-secure zoning was adhered to. Event Genius’s Australian team lead was on the ground overseeing all ticketing and access control operations as well providing 12 industry-leading hardware devices to deliver the event.
